I hate to say it, but IridivmTrvth.com recommends a level of media literacy (ew). What you watch and read can have an effect on your mind. Whatever controls the media controls the zeitgeist and can make issues appear and disappear at will. If you don’t take constant effort to remember certain stories, you could forget them entirely. Why do all the English criminals in the news have distinctly non-English names? Why does the media focus so heavily on the sex of a school shooter? Back in the Cold War, the USSR used the International Organization of Journalists to disseminate leftoid propaganda via media, while the USA’s Central Intelligence Agency did something similar with rightoid talking points via its Operation Mockingbird. However, the Cold War ended long ago, and we are living in a new age with new problems. However, this leftoid versus rightoid framework still exists to this day. A popular application among the media literate elite is Ground News. You may have heard your favorite political Internet celebrity advertise for this company before. Ground News sells itself as unbiased since it summarizes stories from both leftoid and rightoid sources. However, by that point, a Ground News user is just taking in twice the amount of misinformation. On the instances where the leftoids and rightoids agree on something, the agreement is usually common sense, like murder is bad, or just something and entirely wrong. We live in a strange world of black white supremacists, Jewish Nazis, and male feminists. Mainstream media on both sides is corrupt and stupid. Internet celebrities may be arguably less corrupt, but they’re definitely stupider. Humans have human flaws while large corporations devoid of any humanity can purge any human flaws. Don’t try to be unbiased. We’re all biased. Be aware of your biases, as they make you human. However, be aware of the fear the media is instilling in you. Your powerless neighbor is not the enemy. I’ve seen even the most staunch racists cozy up with people of different ethnic backgrounds and the most devout socialists frivolously spend money on consumer garbage while out shopping with friends. Your friends and family are individuals, not members of some malevolent monolith. When things get rough for them, you should be the first to defend them and they’ll do the same for you. Keep your friends close, tell them you love them, and never believe anything you see on TV or read on the Internet.
